The lead is built for no-pull training by connecting the chest and back of a suitable harness for your training sessions. Do take advice from your dog's trainer for methods to use this effectively.

When you are not training, the lead is easily converted into a simple one-ended lead affair by connecting one of the two trigger clips to one of the metal loops, as pictured.
